“this is the hill you want to die on?” oh no i just love arguing. i fully intend to leave this hill once it gets boring. sorry for the confusion!
how do I deserve a love as pure as this
I have now decided to be more active on here and post more, sorry yall (especially the people that already get spammed by my tweets every day lmao)
Missing you
You’re gone but not forgotten
You’ve left but you’re still here
In spirit and in thought
In our memories and our hearts
You live on
Your love, your kindness, your courage
How could we forget?
We, who were your world
We, who cherished you most
Gone, but not forgotten
And you never will be.

What must Charlie have thought tho, when Bella comes down with a “mysterious illness” right after her wedding? He’s mistrusted Edward from the start, and only had more reason to as time went on. First, Edward and his daughter have such an upsetting break up that she can’t bear to be in the same state with him. A few days later, she mysteriously ends up in the hospital with an unbelievable story, looking freaked out, and her and her boyfriend are magically back together. When the topic of her going back to Arizona comes up, she looks scared and frantic. Then a few months later, she comes back from a birthday party at his house bleeding seriously and claiming it’s nothing. Shortly thereafter, Edward leaves her in the woods (showing little regard for her well being) and it’s hours before Charlie or the town find her. The entire family leaves as well, and Bella goes catatonic, pulling away from her friends, and becoming reckless. You think Charlie isn’t keeping an eye on her, doesn’t know from Billy and other cops the kind of behavior she’s been up to? You know he found out later about her jumping off that cliff, in his mind a suicide attempt. Then Bella dissappears again, coming back unsettled and, again, back together with her boyfriend. Bella’s mostly dropped all of her friends again, and, more worryingly, Jacob, who Charlie has known his entire life and trusts implicitly, seems angry upset and concerned about Bella’s boyfriend. Edward seems casually hostile to Jacob, and Charlie gets the impression that Edward is keeping Bella from seeing Jacob, the one person who gave her something to live for while she was gone. Charlie never sees Bella without Edward or one of the Cullens, like they’re constantly watching her, and then suddenly, Bella and Edward are engaged. Jacob dissappears. Bella’s become weirdly non-committal about her plans for college and the future, where previously she had been a great student with a bright future and had talked about going to college near her mom. Now she’s… Maybe moving to Alaska?
Then Bella and Edward get married and immediately afterwards Bella is “sick” and Charlie can’t see her. When he goes to the Cullen’s, the rest of them look guilty and worried. He knows she’s going to die from this strange “illness”– he can see it on their faces and how everyone’s been speaking to him– but he refuses to believe it. He doesn’t want to accept that the final, deadly escalation in a series of red flags.
I’m just saying– as a cop, how many domestic abuse cases has Charlie seen? He knows the signs. In the books, Charlie comes off as overprotective, but from his perspective he has many, many legitimate reasons to suspect that Edward is hurting Bella, and even worse, that the rest of Edward’s family is in on it and covering it up. No wonder he seemed so upset at the wedding– he was warring between supporting his daughter and her choices and warning her away from a man she seemed entirely, unhealthily attached to, who he had good reason to think was hurting and manipulating her.
I’m just saying– Charlie deserved the truth, and he was absolutely valid in disliking Edward.
In the last 10 years, I have watched as women in this industry are criticized and measured up to each other and picked at for their bodies, their romantic lives, their fashion, or have you ever heard someone say about a male artist, I really like his songs but I don’t know what it is, there’s just something about him I don’t like? No! That criticism is reserved for us! But you know…
